Invitation Letter of International Vesak Celebration Next Year

Dear Buddhadharma Brothers and Sisters,

We would like to invite your temple to participate in the International Buddhist Foundation’s 2011 Vesak Celebration from Friday May 13 to Sunday May 15. We would like to make the Vesak Celebration very special for all Buddhists in Calgary and beyond.

Depending on the venue chosen, we are considering each temple to have an area (stall / booth / tent / table / canopy 10’ x 20’) to share their culture of Buddhism. These may include food, tourism, demonstrations, cultural information, and information on meditation through displays and talks. We will also come together as a whole for prayers to celebrate
Vesak.

We are investigating a number of venues both indoor and outdoor depending on the number of temples who wish to participate. Suggestions include: Devonion Gardens, Prince’s Island, Edworthy Park, Marlborough Community Center, Confederation Park / Golf Course, Hillhurst, Riley Park, Glenmore, Bridgeland, etc.

We would like to know if your temple would like to participated in Vesak 2011. Please forward any ideas and suggestions you have.

Please respond by January 10th at the latest. Public park venues are booked very quickly and we need to let the city officials know asap. Thank you for your swift response on this matter.
